The February half-term fun days were hugely popular, not just because of the special visitors.
During the recent February Half Term, Peterborough United Foundation’s Fun Days were taking place. We had many participants enjoying activity packed days, with plenty of football & fun! Players enjoyed days at Nene Valley Community Centre & Neale Wade Academy. During the week we were lucky enough to receive a daily visit from our dear friend, Peter Burrow. We know that Peter thoroughly enjoyed his time meeting the children! Peter was being his mischievous self, taking part in penalty shootouts, dizzy penalties, and was even challenged by some children to a dance off.
The children were also treated to a surprise visit from first team goalkeeper, Christy Pym. Christy very kindly signed posters of himself for every participant at the Nene Valley Community Centre event. Christy then took a few questions from the group followed by a group picture which you can see over on our Facebook Page! (see below for information).
The children all took part in a variety of fun but challenging activities, helping them develop their social & physical skills. All participants also took part in tournaments, where the children were split into teams & battled against each other to see who could come out on top! We wanted the children to enjoy these as much as possible, whilst also developing their competitive game playing. At the end of each day, we held a presentation where the departing children were awarded a certificate and medal, for completing the course.
We are now taking bookings for our Easter sessions. This Easter we are looking forward to running a session in Ramsey for the first time, along with returning to some of our favourite Peterborough and March venues. All days run 9am to 3pm and are run by FA and UEFA qualified coaches, who will deliver lots of fun football activities.
