Posh players, Academy staff and management help contribute to cause.

The Posh Foundation and the Free Kicks Foundation have joined forces on a project for Christmas with the Peterborough United players, management and Academy staff making a financial contribution to ensure school children will not go hungry during the festive period.

The Foundation had successfully organised and distributed 200 food parcels to local school children to provide them with nourishing items to cover the half term break, as there was no government scheme in place at that time.

The Government has now agreed to provide funding to support vulnerable families and to extend the activities and food programme through next year. However, while this means that one meal a day would be provided, during the two-week long Christmas holiday all kids should be able to enjoy themselves, eat well and go to bed full and happy.

Working together, the aim is to raise £1,500 through auctions and money donated via the football club, which will be spent on providing holiday food parcels to those suggested to both the Foundation and the Free Kicks Foundation by local schools.

The Free Kicks Foundation will match all donations up to this target and we will also help distribute the parcels to those who need them.

If you are able to donate a small amount, even a couple of pounds would help provide some light and happiness to a local child this Christmas. The link to donate is here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/freeschoolmealspeterborough

You can also help contribute by bidding on a number of auction items that are currently live in a ‘silent auction. The shirts available are a signed Dan Butler shirt from last season and a Chris Forrester (Special unique shirt featuring the poppy) signed shirt from the fixture with Bolton back in 2016.

To place a bid, simply send an email with your highest offer stating which shirt you are bidding on enquiries@freekicksfoundation.org. The highest offer for each shirt will win the auction, which ends on Saturday 19th December at 3pm.
