Posh head to Shrewsbury on Tuesday night in Sky Bet League One action.

Peterborough United will look to bounce back from Saturday’s 4-3 defeat at Blackpool when they travel to Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday night in a re-arranged Sky Bet League One fixture (7.45pm), moved due to the original tie being postponed due to international call-ups.

Manager Darren Ferguson will be looking for a response from his side after defensive errors cost his side dear at Bloomfield Road. However, Posh remain in third in the league table and they can make ground on those above them with three points.

TEAM NEWS

The Posh boss hinted at changes to his starting line-up for the trip to the Shrews but confirmed there would not be wholesale changes. Frazer Blake-Tracy could return to the squad after not being involved in the 18 on Saturday. Posh don’t have any serious injury worries to contend with.

After Saturday’s defeat at Wycombe, Ro-Shaun Williams is suspended for Tuesday’s game after picking up a red card. However, Town saw the return of Ethan Ebanks-Landell on the bench on Saturday and he could start for the Shrews.

FROM THE GAFFER

“Shrewsbury are a well organised team. They are very tight in terms of how many goals they have conceded. It is away from home, they are a decent team so it will be another hard game for us. We have to be better than what we were on Saturday because if I am honest, aside from Dan Butler, who I thought handled Feeney quite well and created a goal, the rest of the performances were nowhere near that,” Ferguson said.

FROM THE OPPOSITION

“It will be a really good game; Peterborough have got a front three who are very prolific and really good attacking. They were slow to start their season at first but since two, three, four games ago, ever since then, they have really kicked on and got a bit of a groove. Attacking wise, they’re right up there and probably the best in the league.

“We have to respect what they’re good at and respect their strengths and try to work on their weaknesses as well. You can’t do one without the other, you have to respect what they’re good at as they’ve got some good attacking players, top of the goal scoring charts, two of them and Maddison just in behind so we have to respect that and try to impose ourselves on the game as well,” Shrewsbury manager Sam Ricketts said.
