On Wednesday, the football club visited Southfields Primary School after receiving a tweet from a parent.

The Schools Initiative has been extremely busy this week and on Wednesday, hours after the Sky Bet League One clash at AFC Wimbledon, we visited Southfields Primary School in Stanground with over 300 children enjoying our interactive assembly.

Every pupil in the school received a FREE ticket for a forthcoming game at the ABAX Stadium which also allows an adult to watch free of charge. Although the assembly was for Key Stage 2 children, we extended the free offer to the rest of the pupils in the school.

Press Officer Phil Adlam said: “We have visited a substantial amount of schools over the course of this initiative but I would like to give enormous credit to the teachers and pupils at Southfields Primary School. We were made to feel extremely welcome and the youngsters were not only very enthusiastic, but they were also very well-mannered and thankful for our visit.

“We hope they enjoyed our visit and look forward to seeing them all at an upcoming game at the ABAX Stadium.”
