Job Title: Community Coach

Reports to: Participation Manager – Gavin Slater (gavin.slater@theposh.com)

Type of Position: Full-time

Hours: Daytime, Evening and/or weekend sessions

Job Purpose:

To lead and assist in the delivery, monitoring and evaluation of high quality football and sports coaching sessions within our schools, school holiday camps and development centre programmes.

Key Skills and Experience Required: ESSENTIAL

To hold a minimum FA Coaching Football Level 2 Qualification or a level 2 qualification in another sport

Hold a full clean driving license and have access to a vehicle to enable service delivery at different venues. 

Experience of coaching within a school/club environment 

Have an understanding of Safeguarding issues 

Have the ability to assist in supervising and managing a group of young people. 

To hold a current Safeguarding and protecting children certificate 

Emergency First Aid Certificate 

FA Coaching License Coaches Club Member

Key Skills and Experience Required: DESIRABLE

Coaching qualifications in other/additional sports

Level 3 Coaching Football – (UEFA B) 

FA Youth Module 1, 2 and 3 + Assessment 

Experience of coaching within a professional football/futsal club environment 

Level 3 Supporting the Delivery of PE and School Sport

Teaching Assistant/HLTA or Teacher Qualification

Knowledge/Experience of working on funded projects (e.g. Every Player Counts disability programme or Premier League Primary Stars)

BFAS First Aid Qualification

Specific Responsibilities

To lead in the delivery of high-quality sports sessions to mainly primary school age children from age 4 to 11


To provide a supporting role at a range of events and competitions as required. 

To adopt a flexible approach to ensure all sessions are innovative and provide each individual person with the opportunity to develop. 

Implement the Community administrative procedures and safeguarding policies. 

To be able to use your own initiative and work as part of a team. 

Ensure health and safety procedures are implemented, and recorded as required. 

Attend any relevant training requirements for example, first aid, safeguarding vulnerable adults and children.
