Peterborough United make the long journey to the Memorial Stadium on Tuesday night and it will be the first game in charge for Darren Ferguson.

Peterborough United begin life under Darren Ferguson on Tuesday night with a trip to the Memorial Ground to face Bristol Rovers in Sky Bet League One (7.45pm), a game that was moved from its original date because of involvement in the third round of the FA Cup.

A victory could improve the cushion between 6th and 7th to five points but clubs around Posh do have games in hand. Posh go into the clash on the back of a hard-fought 0-0 draw with Charlton Athletic at the ABAX Stadium.

Darren Ferguson met the squad of players on Sunday have had a couple of days training prior to departure to the South West on Tuesday morning. Defender Ryan Tafazolli is suspended and serves the second of a three-match ban but nobody else has been declared unavailable for the clash with the Pirates.

Bristol Rovers were without a league fixture at the weekend and have had a week to prepare for this fixture. Former Posh striker Tom Nichols was an unused substitute in that 1-0 defeat to Wycombe Wanderers last time out and could earn a recall with Stefan Payne replaced after an hour.

“Bristol Rovers is always a tough place to go and play, particularly on a Tuesday night. It is about we play, we have been working on a number of things since coming into the football club and we will try and put that into practice. The squad that was involved at the weekend will be involved on Tuesday night. We have a reserve team game too this week so we can assess all of the players,” Darren Ferguson said.
