Posh Ladies recorded an emphatic 12-1 victory to move into the semi-finals of the cup.

Peterborough United Ladies cruised into the semi-final of the Northamptonshire Women’s Cup with a convincing 12-1 win against Roade FC.

Posh dominated possession from the first whistle and created chances early on and broke the deadlock after 15 minutes, thanks to a well-executed direct free kick from midfielder Stacey McConville.

Posh doubled their lead two minutes later - captain Keir Perkins latching onto a pin point through ball from Megan Parrett. 2-0 Posh. Perkins converted her second of the game less than five minutes later, Jess Driscoll the provider this time.

Driscoll skipping through the Roade defence and squaring the ball for Perkins to tap in to make it 3-0. Perkins returned the favour for Driscoll for the fourth goal of the game - Perkins found Driscoll inside the box and Driscoll coolly rounded the keeper and tapped the ball into the empty net. Parrett bagged herself two goals before half time (36 & 43 minutes) her first a great effort from just outside the box, which she directed low and accurately into the bottom corner.

Parrett completed her hat-trick with the first goal of the second half, Perkins once again providing the assist. McConville and Perkins also completed second half hat-tricks and stiker Donna McGuigan also added a second half brace, Hannah Pendred notably assisting three of the second half goals. Roade did score an 89th minute consolation goal from a free-kick.

Posh will face the winner of Northampton Town /Peterborough Northern Star in the semi finals on Sunday 17th February.
