On Wednesday 6th February The Posh Scholarship travelled to St Georges Park to take on Cambridge United in Futsal.

Having started the game strongly and being on the front foot, Will Palmer scored the opening goal with a toe punt from distance.

With Posh having a lot of joy in possession creating many chances in front of goal, they were looking to double their advantage and make the most of their spell on top; which they did when Mulholland scored to make the score 2-0, however Cambridge brought one back just before half time. After the break Cambridge picked up a loose ball and found the back of the net to level the scores to two goals apiece.

Sam Bayly then found the bottom corner to put Posh back in front from a well worked corner. With Posh leading 3-2 going into the final five minutes they had the chance to kill the game off after a training ground set piece was executed perfectly, however Palmer was not able to convert the chance. This came back to haunt Posh as Cambridge scored three late goals and walked away from St Georges Park with all three points.

The Posh Scholarship travel to Stevenage next week (13/02/2019) for an away Football fixture in the EFL Community & Education Alliance League.

FINAL SCORE: Peterborough United 3-5 Cambridge United
MOTM: Ryan Cook.
