Posh travel to Fratton Park to face in-form Portsmouth on Tuesday night (7.45pm).

Peterborough United make the trip to Fratton Park to face Portsmouth in Sky Bet League One action on Tuesday evening (7.45pm) with both sides needing all three points, Pompey to keep alive their automatic promotion hopes and Posh to take the fight for the play-offs down to the final day

After the 3-0 defeat to Walsall on Saturday, Posh have to win the game in hand against Pompey to stand any chance of leapfrogging Doncaster Rovers on the final day. It will be a tough ask with Portsmouth one of a number of clubs who can still clinch automatic promotion following an excellent campaign which has included success in the Checkatrade Trophy.

TEAM NEWS
Posh are still waiting on the fitness of central defender Ryan Tafazolli, who has missed the last three games with a knee injury. George Cooper is struggling to be fit after collecting an ankle injury at the Bescot while a number of players are doubtful with knocks. Boss Darren Ferguson has confirmed he will make changes following the performance at the weekend.

Omar Bogle could return to Pompey’s match-day squad for the visit of Peterborough. The on-loan Cardiff striker, who has missed the recent games against Coventry and Sunderland, had been suffering from swelling around his knee and ankle.

FROM THE MANAGER
“It is a game that we have to win. We know that. We want to see a response to the display on Saturday, but ultimately it is about the three points. I will freshen the team up, I will make changes. We have a few knocks and bumps and bruises and George is struggling with his ankle so we will see how everyone responds. It will be a sell-out home crowd, they need to win to keep their hopes of automatic promotion alive and we know that if we don’t get a result, our season is done. We want to take it until the final day. That hasn’t happened for a number of seasons,” Darren Ferguson said.
