A look ahead to Tuesday night's clash with Fleetwood.

Peterborough United are back in Sky Bet League One action at the ABAX Stadium on Tuesday evening (7.45pm) with Joey Barton’s Fleetwood Town providing the opposition for Posh, who lie second in the league table going into the clash with the Cod Army.

Steve Evans’ men were beaten 1-0 by Accrington Stanley at the weekend and is determined to arrest the poor home form ahead of the visit of Fleetwood. It is the first Tuesday night home league game of the season for Posh.

TEAM NEWS

There are no reported fresh injury worries from the weekend, but Evans has hinted that there may be changes to his starting line-up. Only defender Josh Yorwerth is absent from the squad as he continues to deal with family issues. Conor O’Malley, Tyler Denton and Marcus Maddison are now fully fit, the latter coming off the bench at the weekend.

Striker Ched Evans is expected to feature as Fleetwood look to bounce back from the 1-0 defeat to Portsmouth, while they have more experience in the form of Ross Wallace in their ranks. They will be without defender Nathan Sheron who was dismissed at Fratton Park.

FROM THE GAFFER

“I don’t know Joey Barton personally, but he was an exceptional player in his time at the highest level. Fleetwood are a team that like a lot of others in this league, are geared to have a good go at promotion and they will be difficult opponents for us. We have worked extremely hard to try and get our home form going and will continue to work hard to try and turn our results at home around,” Steve Evans said.

FROM THE OPPOSITION

“The lads are desperate to play in games and what we don’t have is players who are happy to pick up their wages and not play football, and that is testament to the group of players we have. We will have to adjust on Tuesday, but we have bodies in the squad and players who are more than capable of stepping in and performing at that level. Games come thick and fast, so let’s roll on the game against Peterborough.

“Ched [Evans] is back but we have to be careful with him. It would be ideal to get him back into the starting line-up as he is our top goal scorer and brings a lot to the team, but we need to let mother nature deem if he is fit enough to start on Tuesday,” Joey Barton said.
