Players, staff, directors and coaches get involved in #WorldBookDay!

Today is #WorldBookDay (Thursday 1st March) and to celebrate, staff behind the scenes, coaches, players and directors got involved by reading a page of Tom Palmer’s children’s book, ‘Reading the Game’.

The football club read the first two chapters of the book from an author who has been shortlisted for a Blue Peter Book Award. Premier League Primary Stars Co-ordinator Ryan Johnson explained: “It was a great way of getting people at the football club involved in #WorldBookDay. We had a real cross section of employees from the chief executive to the club shop manager reading out a page from the book.

“As a football club, we work extremely hard within the community and in my role as Premier League Primary Stars Co-ordinator, we work with schools to promote reading through football. Last year we spent time in Stamford, putting on a tournament and working alongside the Premier League, who brought along the Premier League trophy. If you work for a school and feel the football club can help with reading, please email ryan.johnson@theposh.com.”
