Monday night the Mick George Training Academy will host an Academy Open Evening and Trial.
Peterborough United Football Club would like to take this opportunity to invite you to our Academy Open Evening/Trial at The Mick George Training Academy. The evening will be taking place in the education suite at the training ground on Monday 5th February 2018 starting at 6:30pm and approximately finishing at 8:30pm.
Agenda:
Education Presentation- Classroom: 6:30pm-7:15pm
Trial- 3G pitch: 7:30-8:30pm
Our Academy aims to provide a structured and supportive environment where students flourish and develop the skills needed to go on to be successful in their chosen careers, training and/or Higher Education. The BTEC Level 3 in Sport is a specialist work related course developed to cover core elements of sporting performance and excellence such as anatomy, physiology, psychology, coaching, analysis and technical and tactical development.
This course particularly suits those wanting to enter employment in the sport and active leisure sector as sports coaches, instructors, leaders etc. Alternatively, to studying students are able to choose from a selection of A levels.
For those wishing to progress to higher education students will have an opportunity to complete a two-year foundation degree (Sport Development with Coaching) through the Open University while being mentored by senior Peterborough United staff. This will see the learners finish the course with a UEFA B coaching qualification and potential for employment opportunities within the club.
As part of the course students will be required to complete work experience in a variety of sports settings, as well as performing various roles within the organisation of sport events: this will include refereeing and officiating roles. This knowledge and experience will allow for further progression within seeking employment and/or higher education options.
The evening will provide an opportunity for both students and parents to speak to staff about the course on offer and to gain an insight into further opportunities available to players. Players need to bring appropriate clothing, footwear (AstroTurf or Moulds), shin pads and plenty of drink to participate in the trial.
Please can you confirm your attendance via email or telephone. If you are unable to attend, please feel free to contact me to arrange an alternative time to visit.
