Posh youngsters aiming to reach final of the David Joyce Cup but have tough semi-final opponents on Thursday evening.

The Peterborough United youth team will face Peterborough Sports under 18s in the semi-final of the David Joyce Cup on Thursday evening (7.30pm) with the tie set to take place at 651 Lincoln Road, the home of the hosts.

Boss Sam Darlow has confirmed that the majority of his squad will have tasted regular under 18s football and he is looking forward to the challenge that PSL will provide after they knocked out Northampton Town in the previous round of the competition.

“This competition is very important to us. It is a knockout cup which provides us with an opportunity to look at the players in a different type of environment. Winning this trophy was and is one of our targets for the season and we will do everything we can to achieve that goal.

“We have had the opposition watched, they defeated Northampton Town in the previous round so we know they have a lot of quality and we are looking forward to the game. We will not take the opposition lightly, we have prepared the boys in the right way. It will be predominantly under 18s involved in the fixture, we will be as strong as we can be for the game.”

Admission prices have been set at £3 for adults and £1 for concessions.
