We look ahead to Sunday's Sky Bet League One game at Bloomfield Road against Blackpool.

Peterborough United are in action on Sunday this weekend as they travel to Bloomfield Road to face Blackpool (3pm) in Sky Bet League One action with the Seasiders looking to build on an eye-catching victory over the league leaders Wigan Athletic last time out.

Gary Bowyer’s men were 2-0 winners at the DW Stadium while Posh drew 2-2 with promotion-chasing Scunthorpe United in their last fixture with Marcus Maddison and Junior Morias on target in an entertaining encounter. The fixture at Bloomfield Road is taking place on the Sunday because Preston North End are at home on Saturday against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

TEAM NEWS

Posh are without the services of Alex Penny (dislocated shoulder) and Gwion Edwards due to a long-term ankle injury. There are no new injury worries for manager Grant McCann to contend with ahead of the trip north.

Blackpool have former Posh striker Kyle Vassell in their ranks and he could well lead the line against his former employees. Jay Spearing is pushing for a starting berth after he was named among the substitutes in the mid-week win at Wigan.

MCCANN QUOTES

“We are in a good position, I feel I have been saying that for a few weeks but that has also demonstrated that we are still in the mix. We are all working hard, the management team, the players and the staff. Our performances have been good, at Gillingham and against Scunthorpe United and we are looking forward to the game on Sunday.”

FROM THE OPPOSITION

Blackpool striker Armand Gnanduillet said: “Against Wigan we did exactly what other teams have been doing to us in the last few months. “I think we are starting to wake up now. It started against Walsall because we were behind twice but came back both times. “But this is a big step because we showed great character and we are ready to show it again against Peterborough on Sunday
