We look ahead to Saturday's clash with Doncaster Rovers at the ABAX Stadium.

Peterborough United go in search of their sixth Sky Bet League One victory in a row on Saturday when Steve Evans’ men host Doncaster Rovers at the ABAX Stadium (3pm) and there is extra interest to the contest with former Posh boss Grant McCann in the opposing dugout.

Doncaster were in midweek action in the second round of the Carabao Cup, but were knocked out by Blackpool at the Keepmoat Stadium. Posh were without a fixture after being knocked out by Championship side Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road in the first round.

TEAM NEWS

Manager Steve Evans confirmed in his weekly press conference that he has no injury worries to content with ahead of the game, praising Head of Medical Daniel Simm and Head of Strength and Conditioning Lee Taylor alongside assistant manager Paul Raynor for the work they have done with the squad at the training ground.

Evans did admit though that he wasn’t entirely happy despite the 5-1 victory at Plymouth and hinted he may freshen the group for the clash with Rovers. Doncaster rested players for their cup clash with the Seasiders and all are expected to return including Tommy Rowe. Jermaine Anderson is unable to feature as per the terms of his loan arrangement.

MANAGER QUOTES

“I went to watch Doncaster in midweek but they made a number of changes to their starting line-up. I know that people may talk about Grant McCann coming back to Peterborough but for us, we will be focussed on trying to get the three points for our respective clubs. There were certain things that I wasn’t happy with about the performance at Plymouth, but you can’t come out in the media straight afterwards and start talking about negatives after a 5-1 win,” Evans said.

FROM THE OPPPOSITION

I’m looking forward to going back there. It’s just another game really. “We want to go there and do ourselves proud and play the way we can. If I look at the seven games as a whole this season we’ve had one bad performance. We’ve done okay in the league,” Grant McCann said.
