Peter Deakin the guest speaker at monthly event with over 70 in attendance.
The latest ‘senior citizen’ event at the ABAX Stadium took place on Wednesday lunchtime with Hall of Fame member Peter Deakin entertaining the crowd with stories of his playing days in the Caroline Hand Executive Suite.
Deakin also recounted stories from his teaching days as well as his time with Bolton Wanderers during the talk before engaging in a question and answer session with enthralled attendees.
Organiser Phil Adlam said: “We started these events at the back end of last season to see how they would go and we were pleased with how well they were attended so there was never any doubt that we would continue in the new campaign. They will take place on the final Wednesday of every month and I will work closely with Club Historian Peter Lane to ensure that we have speakers at each event.
“I would like to thank everyone who attended, it was great to see so many people through the door and we look forward to the next event.” The event, which was free, also included a quiz and free tea and coffee. A representative from the Alzheimer’s Society was also in attendance.
