Ladies continue to impress with big away win at Corby.

Peterborough United Ladies continued their impressive campaign with a comfortable 5-1 win against Corby S&L FC.

Amy Gore opened the scoring on seven minutes to make it 1-0 with a right footed shot that beat the keeper. Amy Challis made it 2-0 on 15 minutes with an audacious lob from 20 yards that gave the keeper no chance.

Corby pulled a goal back with an excellent individual goal from their winger to make it 2-1 but six minutes later on 23 minutes Keir Perkins made it 3-1 with a right footed shot from close range. 10 minutes later on 33 minutes Jess Driscoll made it 4-1 as she skipped past two defenders and prodded in the ball beyond the keeper.

The second half continued in a similar vein to the first half with Peterborough United Ladies dominating possession but struggling to find the back of the net. The breakthrough came in the 75th minute when Amy Challis once again lobbed the goalkeeper from some 25 yards to make it 5-1. Despite hitting the bar twice the ladies couldn’t find the net again. This was ultimately a comfortable victory for the Ladies on a cold and windy night in Corby.
