Posh entertain Bradford City on Saturday and there is plenty going on at the ABA

After four points from the last two away fixtures, Peterborough United return to Sky Bet League One action at the ABAX Stadium on Saturday afternoon (3pm) with last season’s beaten play-off finalists Bradford City providing the opposition.

Posh go into the clash top of the table with boss Grant McCann and striker Jack Marriott winning the Manager of the Month and Player of the Month for League One in August respectively. Marriott scored six goals during August and celebrates his 23rd birthday on Saturday where he is also expected to be named the foreverposh Player of the Month ahead of kick-off.

The Bantams have one or two familiar faces in their squad with defender Nathaniel Knight-Percival and striker Paul Taylor expected to be named in the travelling party. Taylor moved to Valley Parade at the conclusion of his short-term deal at the ABAX Stadium, but has yet to become a first team regular thanks to the form of Charlie Wyke and Dominic Poleon.

TEAM NEWS

Posh welcome back striker Ricky Miller from a six (seven including the Checkatrade Trophy) game suspension and he will be desperate to make his debut following his summer move from Dover Athletic where he finished the National League’s top goalscorer.

Callum Chettle remains sidelined with a muscle strain, but otherwise, Posh are expected to have a clean bill of health for the fixture. Bantams boss Stuart McCall has acknowledged that the arrival of new signing Adam Thompson, plus the return of Shay McCartan, will give City more options for the visit to table-toppers Peterborough United this Saturday.

After signing on a season-long loan from Bury last week, Thompson made his first appearance at City's training ground this Thursday following a period away on international duty with Northern Ireland alongside new Bantams team-mate McCartan.

MCCANN QUOTES

“I think is the biggest game of the season so far because after such a good start, we want to continue this and Bradford will provide tough opposition. They have brought in quite a few new players since last season and had a good win last weekend against Bristol Rovers. However, having said all that, I said at the start of the season that I wanted to get to a point where I was 95% talking about us and 5% about the opposition and we are moving nearer that target,” McCann said.
