The Posh 'A' team are Futsal National Champions!

“NATIONAL CHAMPIONS “

Posh A ended the season in the best way possible, by maintaining a 100% league record, and winning the Nationals Finals!

Group stages

Posh started well in the group stages, narrowly missing out on an opening three points to Grimsby Town, who recently beat the Posh in the EFL Cup 3-0. Posh took an early lead through Kyle Gray, but they conceded late on as Grimsby played fly keeper, scrambled a late equaliser meaning Posh got one point in their first game.

In their second game, the Posh saw off Southampton easily as they won 4-1. A hat-trick from Jaquite and a great solo goal from Nassunculo proved to be too much for the Saints, a team that Posh had previously drawn 3-3 with in the EFL cup.

In their final group game, Posh took on firm rivals Norwich, knowing that a win would see them through the group stages and into the finals. They won the match in style as they won 4-3, with Nassunculo scoring a hat-trick and Squad Captain Mucklin scored also.

Finals

Posh faced Grimsby Town again for the second time in the tournament. This time, the Posh came out victorious as they won 2-0, thanks to goals from Keitly and Mucklin, Posh showing some great defensive play as well as attacking.

Posh faced Exeter in the final, the first time ever that we have played them. Posh started the better team and showed dominance throughout the final. Kyle Gray scored a great team goal, which started through Mucklin. Posh defended well and saw the game out and became national champions for the first time in their history.
