Chris Forrester nets winner as Posh bounce back from Bury horror show to record important win.

Peterborough United recorded a 1-0 victory against Swindon Town at the County Ground thanks to captain Chris Forrester who netted just after half-time to secure all three points.

Swindon Town goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux was called upon early to make the first save of the afternoon, getting down well to his right to claw away a downward header from Ryan Tafazolli after a beautiful delivery from Marcus Maddison.

Michael Bostwick and Dominic Ball produced fine blocks, the former to deny Nathan Thompson as Swindon made progress down the right.

Thompson was booked for hauling down Angol who had put together a lung-bursting run while Smith was also cautioned, although his came from his first foul of the half.

Maddison tested the keeper with a curling effort from deep while Edwards and Forrester both saw shots blocked.

One minute of added time was signalled by the fourth official and nothing of note occured with Bostwick firing behind from a good crossing position.

Neither side made any changes at the interval, but there was a change in the scoreline within a minute of the second period as Chris FORRESTER finished off a flowing move with a crisp right-footed shot after great work from Maddison and then Angol.

Bostwick produced a fine block on 55 minutes as Swindon began to up the pressure with substitute Hylyon providing a bit more thrust in attack.

Maddison had a horrible 60 seconds on 63 minutes, he was penalised for a foul and then took a meaty clearance from Bostwick right into the midriff, he was cautioned as he got to his feet.

Gladwin was cautioned for a foul on Edwards moments later with the former Crawley man carrying the ball up the field for Posh.

Hylton curled over from the edge of the box on 66 minutes after a swift Town counter-attack.

Grant McCann made his first change on 72 minutes, Paul Taylor replacing Nichols in attack.

Da Silva Lopes replaced Edwards on 82 minutes as McCann tried to sure up the points in midfield. Three minutes later, Maddison was replaced by Martin Samuelsen as McCann made his final change of the afternoon.
