Amy Gore nets hat-trick in big reserve win for the Posh Ladies.

Despite the rough pitch conditions and weather, the match started with intensity from both teams. Peterborough created some promising chances early in the first half, with some good link up play down the right, which the Rothwell defenders managed to clear.

Posh continued their persistent pressure until the breakthrough finally came through a beautifully placed strike from Amy Gore. This gave the team a confidence boost, allowing them to go on and score another two goals before the first half ended.

The second came from a through ball from Imogen James, which left Gore scoring her second after a 1 on 1 with the keeper. The last goal of the half came from an individual effort from Jess Driscoll who dribbled the ball past several Rothwell defenders and slotted the ball into the back of the net.

Rothwell kicked off the second half with Peterborough looking to go out and maintain and increase their lead. As the game went on, Posh started to pass the ball with ease through the hard working Rothwell players. This lead to Lia Richardson scoring Posh’s 4th goal after another ball behind the defence and her calm composure allowing her to slot the ball past the diving keeper.

Driscoll netted her second after taking the ball past Rothwell’s back line and smashing it into the top corner. Minutes later, her corner allowed Celine to slot the ball in at the back post for number five.

In a game full of possession for Posh, Amy Gore completed her hat-trick from close range, finishing off the game and a well-deserved win.
