The Posh Ladies suffer first league defeat of the campaign.

The Peterborough United Ladies lost their unbeaten record in the League going down 3-1 to a formidable Leicester City team. Leicester, who were determined to reverse their earlier loss to Peterborough United Ladies recalled a number of senior players and the difference showed almost immediately from the start of the game.

The Ladies withstood a great deal of relentless pressure from a high pressing Leicester team and eventually that pressure paid off in the 18th minute when the Leicester striker pounced on a loose ball in the penalty box to make it 1-0.

In the second half Posh started to make better use of the ball by trying to play into space and it soon paid dividends when Jess Driscoll was put through one on one with the Leicester goalkeeper which she calmly slotted home to make it 1-1.

Leicester were nevertheless, to have the final say with two quick goals in the 75th and 80th minute to make it 3-1 making the game totally safe for the home team. This was despite a fabulous double save by Amy Martin which drew the applause of all the crowd and players.

This was Posh's first League loss of the season, but upon reflection the Ladies should take many positives from this match. They competed for large periods of the game and really caused Leicester some anxious moments.
