Ladies continue unbeaten run with hard fought success.

Peterborough United Ladies maintained their unbeaten run in the League with a hard fought 2-0 win against their Leicestershire rivals, Heather FC.

In a keenly contested first half, Heather defended aggressively and when the opportunity arose quickly tried to release their two strikers. Some solid defending from the Peterborough United Ladies in the form of Fiona Plumb , Laura Tonkin, Emma Stevenson and Bronwyn Mulheron kept the opposition at bay. Posh probably had the bulk of the goal scoring opportunities, but just couldn't convert.

The second half saw a re-energised Peterborough team. The introduction of Tash Applegate immediately paid dividends when a quick pass from Eleanor Boothman saw Applegate half volley the ball in the 65th minute past the despairing dive of the Heather goalkeeper.

The Ladies made the game secure when in the 85th minute Jess Driscoll delivered a perfect corner for Bronwyn Mulheron to rise above her marker and head home from close range. The Ladies had to work really hard for this win, but all credit to them for the manner in which they applied themselves. They never gave up and were constantly trying to break down the Heather defence.
