Luton Town await Posh in the next round of the competition.
Peterborough United will travel to Kenilworth Road to face Sky Bet League Two high fliers Luton Town in the third round of the Checkatrade Trophy after the draw was made live on Talksport on Friday afternoon.
The Hatters, who are scoring bags of goals in their division, beat West Ham under 23s in the second round this week. Jack Marriott, Ricky Miller and Mark Tyler have all played for Luton in recent years.
The tie is likely to take place on Tuesday 9th January. Full ticket details will be announced in due course.
