It is day nine of the Free Kicks Countdown to Christmas and it is time to reveal the lucky mascots.

Today’s feature allows us to introduce to you three very important people who will be taking centre stage at the ABAX Stadium on Saturday…they are the three young winners of our Mascot Competition that we ran a few weeks ago.

We asked the people of Peterborough to nominate a child or young person to us who they thought deserved to win the opportunity to be a Peterborough United team mascot at the game against Bury on December 23rd and originally our plan was to choose just one. However, we were inundated with emails and had dozens of suggestions from parents, aunties and uncles, friends and relatives of amazing local children. When we got together with Posh captain Jack Baldwin, we realised we couldn’t narrow it down to just one winner. Between us, we managed to select a final three but then decided to offer all of them the winning prize and are delighted that all three will join us at the game this Saturday.

The very deserving winners are:

Tyler aged 7. Favourite player is Gwion Edwards

Kyle aged 11. Favourite player is Leo da Silva Lopes

Harry aged 5. Favourite player is Chris Forrester

The boys will get to meet the players in the dressing room before the game to collect their autographs and have their pictures taken before heading off on a tour around the ABAX Stadium. Then, wearing their brand new Posh kits, they will take to the pitch for a skills session before eventually walking out with the team ahead of kick off. We hope all three boys enjoy the day and that this experience gets their Christmas off to a wonderful start.

We would like to thank Edmundson Electrical for their support, Jack Baldwin and all at Peterborough United for helping to make these dreams come true.
