Posh host Milton Keynes Dons in the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday evening.

Peterborough United entertain Milton Keynes Dons in the second group stage game of the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday evening (7.30pm) at the ABAX Stadium.

Following the defeat to Norwich City under 21s on match day one, Posh need a victory to keep their hopes of qualifying for the knockout stage of the competition alive.

Grant McCann's men have already tasted victory over the Dons, a close-range effort from Andrew Hughes and an own goal securing a 2-0 Sky Bet League One win at stadium mk earlier in the campaign.

The Posh boss has confirmed no fresh injury worries for the tie and has confirmed he will play a strong side for the clash with only Jermaine Anderson, Lee Angol and Brad Inman unavailable due to injury.

Right-back Michael Smith is away with Northern Ireland so Hayden White has a chance to stake his claim for a regular berth in that position.

"Hayden has spoken to me a couple of times about how he can stay in the team and he has been working hard to improve. This is a good opportunity for him because Michael is away on Saturday for the league game with Bury too.

"We are looking forward to the game. We know that we need to win it because of the result in the first game. Against Norwich I made a few changes but that won't be the case against MK Dons," McCann said.

The Dons will be without the services of George Baldock who limped out of the weekend win over Oldham Athletic with a hamstring injury.

Daniel Powell and Scott Wootton are also unavailable, but the Dons were able to start one-time Posh loanee Kieran Agard at Boundary Park and he netted in the 2-0 win.

Fans are reminded that in the Checkatrade Trophy that if the scores are level after 90 minutes, the tie will go straight to a penalty shoot-out with one point awarded to the winners of that.
