Posh Ladies draw 3-3 with local rivals Northampton Town.

Peterborough United Ladies narrowly failed to make it a Men's and Ladies double when they fought out an entertaining 3-3 draw against Northampton Town.

Posh started the liveliest when only after two minutes Jess Driscoll rounded the goalkeeper to make it 1-0. The lead wasn't to last long when Northampton came storming back to level it 1-1. Eleanor Boothman then made it 2-1 in the 36th minute after Jess Driscoll whipped in a vicious cross from the right for Boothman to meet and score. At that moment the Posh seemed in control of the game but their failure to clear a Northampton corner cost them dearly when the ball was turned in past the Posh goalkeeper.

Northampton started much the quicker in the second half and soon took the lead when they failed to deal with a cross from the right which was turned in at close range. At 3-2 Posh were forced to go on the attack and search for that equaliser and find it they did when Eleanor Boothman's free kick in the 75 minute sailed over the despairing lunge of the Northampton goalkeeper. Posh had the chance to win the game in the last 10 minutes but were denied by some excellent saves from the Northampton goalkeeper.
