Manor School trial date just around the corner.

Since September 2014 Peterborough United have linked up with Manor school in Raunds to provide a football academy for players aged between 16-18. The programme allows players to combine further education and full time football.

Over the three years the programme has been running the link between the club and the programme has got closer and closer every year. The programme plays regular games against PUFC under 16’s and 18’s, train with Jack Collison and Ryan Semple, attend PUFC first team games and also play under the name of Peterborough United.

In the three years there has been over 10 players from the programme play for the current youth team or reserves at PUFC. The coaches who run the programme are both currently PUFC academy coaches. This is important as they both understand the standard required to represent PUFC youth team or reserves.

The programme play competitive fixtures in the National League Under 19’s Alliance which is the highest possible standard outside of professional football. The team play every Wednesday and are currently joint top in their division. It is vital for the team to play competitive fixtures as this will help players progression and development. At the end of the two years there is plenty of progression routes for the players. It is important to provide a clear pathway for players.

We have helped players receive contracts at non-league football clubs, scholarships in America and also offers at professional football clubs. Hopefully in the next 3 years we can get a player to break into PUFC.
