Magpies Earn Late Replay Against 10-Man Posh

Notts County and Peterborough United will replay at the ABAX Stadium as the Magpies scored a stoppage time equaliser to deny 10-man Posh at Meadow Lane.

Marcus Maddison tested Adam Collin with a curler from 20-yards which was routine for the keeper, but moments later, the deadlock was broken.

A hotly disputed corner kick from Maddison was allowed to reach Leonardo DA SILVA LOPES and the teenager, who celebrated his 18th birthday in the week, rifled home a superb low shot into the bottom corner of the net.

Adam Campbell somehow managed to side-foot wide at the far post after a free-kick from the right was delivered into a decent area as County came close to a quick leveller.

Da Silva Lopes took down a Taylor pass with confidence moments later and ran at the heart of the defence, he got the ball onto his right-foot, but dragged his shot wide of the target.

Bostwick stabbed a shot wide of the target as Notts County failed to deal with a Maddison corner on the near side.

Posh doubled their lead on the quarter hour mark as a wonderful piece of skill from Taylor created some room down the left, his cross was only half cleared and EDWARDS was there to lash home into the bottom corner to make it 2-0 to Grant McCann's side.

McGee denied O'Connor who saw his low free-kick beaten away on 22 minutes after Tafazolli had been penalised for handball. Burke then fired wide from distance after finding some room 30-yards from goal.

Oliver headed over a Forte cross on 29 minutes after a decent spell of possession from the Magpies. Da Silva Lopes had a chance to get his second and the Posh third on 33 minutes after a strong run and pass from Maddison, but the teenager fired wide of the near post.

The home side reduced the arrears after a sustained spell of pressure on 41 minutes as Adam CAMPBELL swept home from the edge of the box into the bottom corner past the despairing dive of McGee.

A nightmare 15 minute spell was compounded in stoppage time as Angol was shown a straight red card for shove in the face of Tootle by the touchline. Angol was being fouled at the time and it looked like the official was going to give a yellow card but seemed to take advice in his ear from the fourth official.

Forte guided a volley wide of the near post on 51 minutes as the Magpies tried to establish control with the extra man.

Taylor saw a low sho comfortably gathered by Collin on 56 minutes. McCann made a double change moments later with Shaquile Coulthirst and Tom Nichols replacing Taylor and Maddison.

O'Connor was denied by McGee as another free-kick was given in favour of the hosts. McGee beat away a Campbell effort around the near post on 78 minutes as County continued to press.

Collin cracked the bar from the edge of the box for County on 86 minutes before Duffy was booked for hacking down Coulthirst. Five minutes of stoppage time wasa indicated by the fourth official, but with Forrester down receiving treatment, that was going to be longer.

The home side found an equaliser in stoppage time as LAING squeezed home a shot after Posh failed to clear a corner kick. Posh had appeals for a spot-kick turned down by the referee moments later before the final whistle was blown.
