New Development Centre launched in Oundle.

Peterborough United are delighted to announce that a new Development Centre, will open in Oundle later this month. We have been running locally based development centres, made up of gifted and talented footballers for a number of seasons. Centres are currently operated in Deeping, Peterborough, St Ives and March.

Development Centres allow players to be coached and improved by our coaches, whilst still being able to play for a local grassroots team. Participants receive technical coaching, along a similar syllabus delivered to the academy age groups, with the possibility to be pushed towards a trial in the academy.

Our next centre will be held at the Prince William School, in Oundle for boys playing under 7s to under 12s. Trials will begin for boys currently in school years 2-7, with the first session on Friday 18th November. If any player wishes to trial, please email gavin.slater@theposh.com with players name, date of birth, any medical information, an emergency contact number and current school attending. Players will need to arrive at the venue approximately 15 minutes before the session start time of 5pm, and will need to bring their own training kit, trainers, shin-pads and drink.

All players will receive a free two week trial at the Oundle centre. Players will be informed on the day of their second session if they have been successful in gaining a place. Subsequent session costs are £4 per week, paid in blocks, for successful trialists.

Gavin Slater, Development Centres Manager said “I am really pleased to add Oundle to the list of locations where we hold Development Centres. The area around East Northamptonshire is an area that I have been looking to add a venue and the Prince William school is ideally located with a great facility. I am sure that there are many talented young footballers in this region that would be interested in attending and I look forward to receiving many trial applications to make this centre just as successful as our other locations”.
