The football club can confirm the appointment of Lee Glover as the new assistant manager.

Peterborough United manager Grant McCann has appointed Lee Glover as his assistant manager with the former Derby County and Coventry City coach taking up his role ahead of the players' returning to pre-season training.

McCann worked with Glover on his Pro Licence and believes his experience of working with younger players will benefit the squad at the ABAX Stadium.

"He brings great experience to the young dressing room that we have, he has worked under a number of excellent managers in the past including Steve McLaren, Nigel Clough and Tony Mowbray to name but a few.

"He has worked with a lot of younger groups in the past with the under 21s at Derby and Coventry, as well as having a spell in management with Corby. He is a very good coach, someone that I have got to know really well on the Pro Licence and someone I am excited to be working with.

"I am confident he will get the best out of the players. It was really important to get this appointment right. I spoke to one or two other people, but when I spoke to Lee, I understood straight away how keen he was to join us, he only lives down the road in Corby and that was important too because we want someone local who can spend a lot of time with the players," McCann said.
