Posh host Preston North End at the ABAX Stadium in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday.

Peterborough United entertain Sky Bet Championship side Preston North End at the ABAX Stadium on Saturday afternoon (3pm) in the third round of the Emirates FA Cup.

Posh reached this stage of the competition following victories at Burton Albion and against Luton Town with Graham Westley's men yet to concede a goal in the fixtures they have participated in.

Recent loan signings Martin Samuelsen and Lawrie Wilson have been given persmission to play in the competition. Shaun Brisley, Gabriel Zakuani, Kgosi Ntlhe, Jermaine Anderson and Joe Gormley are sidelined with injury while Michael Bostwick is not expected to feature, although he has received better news on his injury following a scan.

"We were awesome in our last FA Cup tie against Luton and we were very good in the previous round at Burton," manager Graham Westley said this week. "Our attacking game is in very good order, but we plan to be even more expansive against Preston.

“It doesn’t matter to us who we are playing or what division they are in. We will play in the same attacking style because we want to put on a show for our fans as much as we want to win the game. Before each round I say FA Cup ties favour the brave and there are not many teams who are as brave as we are. We have a very tough match ahead of us, but we don’t want our FA Cup journey to end on Saturday.”

Preston have extended the loan deal of winger Adam Reach until the end of the campaign from Middlesbrough and signed Aston Villa front man Callum Robinson for a similar period. He enjoyed a loan stint with North End last season.

A bucket collection will be taking place prior to Posh’s FA Cup tie against Preston on Saturday (January 9) in aid of the Chris Turner Statue Fund.

Club legend Chris died on April 27 2015, aged 64, following a long battle against dementia. He played 364 times for Posh between 1969 and 1978 and scored 42 goals, before managing the club between 1991 and 1993.

The Lilywhites had sold around 500 tickets in advance for the cup-tie. Posh fans can purchase tickets at www.theposhtickets.com, via the Ticketmaster hotline 0844 847 1934 and in person at the the ABAX Stadium Box Office.
