Midfielder Harry Beautyman is excited ahead of the Emirates FA Cup tie with Preston North End.

The ABAX Stadium has already played host to some cracking games and with just five defeats in 18 in front of their own supporters, the Peterborough United players are confident going into Saturday's Emirates FA Cup third round tie with Sky Bet Championship side Preston North End (3pm).

However, that confidence will not lead to complacency according to midfielder Harry Beautyman, who has only tasted defeat twice in nine matches that he has featured in this season.

"We are at home, in front of our home crowd, so that gives us a slight advantage and obviously against a big Championship club, with big support and fan base, it is a tie that we are looking forward to.

"We definitely won’t fear them coming to our back yard, if anything, we’re going to take the game to them and hopefully come out with a result, but we will not be taking anything for granted, we know that they have some top quality players and we will have to perform to get the result we want.

“It’s been a long time since the club’s had a big Premier League side, so it would be nice to go through and try and draw a big team, but the main thing for us is looking forward to Saturday and to not get ahead of ourselves.

“Ever since the gaffer’s come in, I think we’ve been really good at getting a good result and then putting it to bed straight away, we come in to training on a Monday and we don’t really speak of it, we mainly speak about the next game on either the Tuesday or the following Saturday, you can’t get too carried away, there’s loads of games in a season and you’ve just got to take one at a time, so while we were happy with the result at Sheffield United, it has gone now," Beautyman said.

The midfielder, like the club's supporters, was thrilled to hear that teenager Martn Samuelsen has extended his loan spell from West Ham United until the end of the season. Beautyman believes the Hammer is a special talent.

“He is a massive talent, he brings the tricks out every day on the training ground and it only works in our favour with him being with us until the end of the season. It is very exciting for the fans as well as us because he is a great talent and he could go a long way in the game, but believe me there are a lot of special players in our dressing room," Beautyman concluded.
