Posh crash to third successive Sky Bet League One defeat in a row.

Peterborough United suffered their third successive Sky Bet Leauge One defeat in a row as struggling Oldham Athletic claimed a 2-1 victory at the ABAX Stadium.

Posh were behind inside the opening two minutes but rallied to level before the break through Souleymane Coulibaly, however the second period was a non-starter in terms of tempo for Graham Westley's men and the Latics secured all three points from the spot.

Graham Westley's men suffered a nightmare start as Ntlhe failed to control a cross to the back post and Cameron DUMMIGAN curled a superb shot into the bottom corner past the despairing dive of Ben Alnwick.

Souleymane Coulibaly tested goalkeeper Coleman with a curling effort from the edge of the box after an intelligent knock down by Angol.

Ntlhe had a go from 30-yards moments later and this time the keeper couldn't hold on to the effort, but Angol skied the rebound over the crossbar on the half volley.

Baldwin planted a header wide from a driven Maddison corner kick on the quarter hour mark. Goalkeeper Alnwick made a comfortable stop to deny Curtis Main on 19 minutes as the striker sent a crisp low effort on target.

Alnwick did well to keep out Amadi-Holloway's low shot on 23 minutes and was then alert to smother the rebound from Main as the visitors threatened a second goal.

Maddison did well to skip past his defender and burst into the box on 25 minutes, but his shot was saved by the near post by Coleman. Main fired wide of the near post after anticipating the low centre quicker than Zakuani as the game reached the half hour mark.

Posh drew themselves level on 38 minutes as a Maddison effort from range was tipped onto the crossbar and when the ball rebounded back into play, COULIBALY was there to nod the ball into the gaping net.

Oztumer fired wide when off balanced on the stroke of half-time after good work from Smith, Maddison and Taylor in the build-up.

Amadi-Holloway glanced a header wide on 55 minutes after good work down the left from Lafferty. Maddison tested Coleman on the hour mark after collecting a decent pass out of defence from Baldwin.

Alnwick produced a fine stop by his near post to deny Dummigan on 64 minutes as the visitors threatened to take the lead. Posh made a double change on 68 minutes with Martin Samuelsen and Shaquile Coulthirst replacing Coulibaly and Taylor.

On 71 minutes, Oldham got themselves back in front as Alnwick failed to hold a powerful drive from the edge of the box and then as he went to retrieve the ball, fouled his man. Captain Liam KELLY stepped up and the power in the spot-kick took the ball into the back of the net.

Amadi-Holloway powered a header against the foot of the post from a corner kick as Oldham came desperately close to a third goal as Posh failed to spark into any kind of life.

Maddison saw a powerful drive parried away on 79 minutes with the ball rebounding to safety as no Posh players pounced to convert.

On 86 minutes, Maddison picked out substitute Coulthirst who took a fine first touch to make the space but then fired wide of the near post with his right-foot.
