Posh duo kick-off schools programme with visit to Abbotsmede.

Peterborough United defensive duo Jerome Binnom-Williams and Michael Smith kicked off the football club's schools programme with a visit to Abbotsmede Primary School.

The football club is determined to visit as many Primary Schools within the Greater Peterborough area and beyond over the next few months to hand out special vouchers to pupils which will allow them to watch a Posh home league game for free along with an adult for just £10.

The duo participated in an assembly at the school, which included a DVD showcasing some of the best Posh goals and moments from the season so far before mascot Peter Burrow was introduced to the excited kids.

Smith and Binnom-Williams then handed out the tickets to each child after smiling for the cameras.

Phil Adlam, Press Officer of the football club, said: "We want to try and visit as many Primary Schools between now and the end of the season. We want to try and create a bit of competition between the schools because we can view the percentage of the take-up of tickets given to each school.

"The players personally giving the tickets to the children is important, but we also recognise the importance of our mascot, Peter Burrow, and the response that he generates at these kind of visits. Hopefully, the children will be keen to come to the ABAX Stadium in the next few months and we can retain their support moving forward."

The vouchers can be redeemed online and are valid for the Motorpoint Stand of the stadium.
