The Posh 'A' team miss out on the title after defeat.

Posh A knew what they needed to do to win the league and that was to beat the Canaries. However, it didn’t go to plan as within the first minutes the Blues gave away a cheap penalty with Nassunculo bringing a Canaries playing down inside the box. The Norwich forward stepped up and converted.

Posh were now up against it knowing they needed this to clinch the title, but then Norwich scored the second of the day by receiving the ball wide and playing across the goal beating the Blues keeper by the near post.

Posh couldn’t get going with their shape on and off the ball and with nothing going to plan, Norwich went three up just before the break from a quick counter attack which caught Posh out of position. Gray smashed the ball into the roof off the net to reduce the arrears five minutes into the second half after a tactical switch from boss Michael Johnson at the break. Norwich added a fourth and moments later it was five after a swift counter-attack. Nassunculo reduced the arrears again, but Norwich then scored straight away from kick off to put them 6-2 ahead.

Nassunculo reduced the arrears further and Posh squeezed another goal as they finished strong, but Norwich were crowned champions following a 6-4 win. Coach Michael Johnson said "It was a very disappointing day for us all involved, we started the game slow considering we have had some great score lines leading into this.”

Posh: Bland, Powell, Nassunculo, Gale, Gray, Renecke, Keilty, Mucklin, Jaquite.
