Ladies Reserves Suffer Narrow Loss

13 December 2016

Posh Ladies reserves slip to narrow defeat.

Peterborough United kicked off the first half looking to get an early goal to put Corby under pressure. Peterborough played some brilliant attacking play, looking very threatening when they were near the goal. They had a few shots but nothing came from it.

Corby opened the scoring after a sustained spell of possession, but Peterborough got straight back into the game playing some good football around Corby and finding a finish through Lia Richardson.

As Corby kicked off the second half there was still everything to play for with both teams looking for the win. Both teams battled extremely hard defensively and when attacking, both carried a threat. Peterborough made it extremely hard for Corby to keep possession. Then Corby gained possession, counter attacked and scored the final goal of the game.

Final Score – Peterborough United Ladies Reserves 1 – 2 Corby Town Ladies
