Michael Bostwick earns Posh a late point at the ABAX Stadium.

Peterborough United secured a last gasp point as Michael Bostwick headed home from close-range in the 90th minute to earn a 1-1 draw against Coventry City.

Paul Taylor, back in the line-up after recovering from a hamstring injury, saw a deflected effort gathered by Burge before curling an effort over the upright after a fine crossfield pass from Michael Bostwick.

The deadlock was broken on 16 minutes and it was a scruffy goal to concede from Posh's point of view, Jordan WILLIS allowed to bundle home from close-range after Posh failed to clear a right-wing centre from Rose.

McGee denied Thomas who let fly from just inside the box as the Sky Blues continued to threaten, particularly on the counter-attack.

Angol saw a shot deflect wide of the target after linking well with strike partner Nichols as Posh came close to a response.

Da Silva Lopes was cautioned on 43 minutes for a wild tackle by the touchline. Sterry fired wide via the aid of a deflection minutes after the re-start. Angol headed straight at Burge at the other end after a deep cross from Forrester.

Grant McCann made his first changes just after the hour mark with Marcus Maddison replacing Paul Taylor and Callum Chettle replacing Da Silva Lopes. Moments later Shaquile Coulthirst replaced Nichols in attack.

Maddison was denied by a flying Burge save on 70 minutes with Bostwick's follow-up blocked. Burge was well placed to deny Coulthirst's flick after a decent run and cross from Edwards moments later.

Coulthirst couldn't keep his effort down at the far post after a decent delivery from Maddison before the Sky Blues made their next change with the experienced Marvin Sordell introduced for former Nottingham Forest man Tudgay.

Maddison fired wide of the near post on 78 minutes after bustling his way into the penalty area. Bostwick was booked for a foul on Reid who had skipped past two challenge.

Bostwick glanced a Maddison corner kick wide of the far post as the game entered the final few minutes.

Tafazolli was superbly denied by Burge as the game moved into four minutes of stoppage time. Maddison fired wide from a quickly-taken corner before there was late drama as a superb cross on the run from Maddison was powered home by BOSTWICK at the back post.
