Posh defender honoured with PFA award.

Peterborough United have named Jack Baldwin as their PFA Community Champion for the 2015/16 season. Defender Baldwin was nominated for the award by Community Manager Nick Sheppard following his tremendous support in visiting and supporting Community projects.

Sheppard said: “Jack is a fantastic ambassador for the Football Club. He is always keen to do as much in the Community as possible and has been to a number of different events involving participants of all different age groups and backgrounds. The impact the players have when going out in the community is phenomenal and we are lucky here to have such a good group of lads who are more than willing to do their fair share.”

John Hudson, PFA Director of CSR said: “The PFA believes that all players who go above and beyond what is expected of them in support of the clubs community engagement programmes throughout the season should be recognised for their commitment. This Award should highlight and raise awareness of the social responsibilities and impact of our Professional Footballers off the pitch and we would like to extend our congratulations to this season’s recipient of the 2015/16 Community Champion Award.”

Jack Baldwin added: “It’s a really great achievement for myself because I love doing work with the community, whether it be at a school, hospital or charities that are in partnership with the football club, and I feel honoured to be recognised for the time I spend outside of football.

“We care about our local community and it’s another way of showing the people that come and support us week in week out that we appreciate their support.”
