Coach Michael Johnson reviews the 'A' side's defeat to Norwich City.

The Posh ‘A’ side opened their season with a fixture against Norwich City. The Posh had previously played the Canaries in a pre-season fixture which was very competitive and challenging for the Blues and the first league game of season proved to be no different.

Posh started brightly looking very energetic and dangerous, however were caught out from a Norwich counter attack when their GK went long from his hands and the Canaries striker pounced on the delivery and volleyed it home.

Posh' reaction was encouraging, taking control of the game with a large part of possession for the following five minutes. Gray then managed to split Norwich's back line with a reverse pass which lead to Powell bringing the ball down and striking the ball in the top of the net to make it 1-1.

Posh continued to cause threats against Norwich for the following minutes, but once againwere caught napping and Norwich struck three times in a matter of minutes to increase the lead to 4-1 at half time.

The second half kicked off and both teams had spells of possession, Posh struck the post with a Gray strike from distance. Bland was next to strike the woodwork for the Posh with a cracking shot from distance when playing fly GK.

Posh had travelled with a squad of just 6 (1 substitute) and with just 10 minutes left you could visibly see energy levels lowering by the minute. With a very young side Posh, were struck by the Canaries twice more to make the score 6-1. The Blues had come up against a very strong Norwich side which would be a big learning curve for all 1st year's involved.
