Defender Michael Smith assisted driving instructors in quest to raise money for Children in Need.

Peterborough United right-back Michael Smith joined driving instructors from across the country in raising money for Children in Need with the Big Learner Relay.

Hampshire driving instructor Louise Walsh is the inspiration behind 'The Big Learner Relay for Children in Need' with the event featuring driving instructors and pupils from across the country.

The idea is to relay a top box, (the kind that driving instructors have on the roof of their cars), from one driving lesson to another around England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

The relay began in Northern Ireland on Monday 26th October then crossed the water to continue its convoy on Friday 30th October, convoying around the UK finishing in Swindon on the 13th November which is the Children in Need Appeal Day 2015.

The journey will last 14 days, 2800 miles, 180 lead driving lessons and many thousands of instructors and pupils taking part with Posh defender Smith lending a hand in Peterborough as they set off from the ABAX Stadium. Louise Bowes from Louise Driver Training lead the convoy from Peterborough, followed by other local driving schools.
