Peter Burrow to join the Christmas switch on.

Queensgate Shopping Centre has just announced that Steven Arnold, better known as Coronation Street’s Ashley Peacock, will be switching on the brand new Christmas lights on Friday 6 November and he will be joined by our very own Peter Burrow.

Steven will be starring as the Scarecrow in the Cresset Theatre’s Christmas pantomime, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. A firm favourite with Corrie fans everywhere, he is expected to draw a crowd.

Join him in Central Square from 5:45pm as he begins the countdown and illuminates the stunning Christmas light display throughout Queensgate.

Mark Broadhead, Centre Director at Queensgate Shopping Centre, said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming Steven to Queensgate and can’t wait for the people of Peterborough to see our brand new decorations.”

The light switch on event is set to be bigger and better than ever this year with a whole host of special guests and entertainment starting from 4pm. Steven will be joined by Bjorn the friendly polar bear, Peterborough Youth Choir and of course Father Christmas himself, who will be moving in to his magical new grotto set within a giant tree of twinkling lights.
