Posh Academy seeking two physiotherapists or Sports Therapists.

The Peterborough United Football Club Academy requires two motivated, flexible and dedicated graduate Physiotherapists or Sports Therapists to join our sports science and medical team for the season 2015-16.

You will work alongside other therapists, sports scientists and shadow the head academy physiotherapist to help provide acute injury management and rehabilitation for the U9-U16 age groups. You will also be required to provide occasional match day first aid cover.

There will be plenty of opportunity to practice hands on assessment and treatment skills as well as constructing and delivering rehabilitation programmes, and assisting sports scientists in the delivery of fitness programmes, prehab, injury prevention programmes and lifestyle advice.

Ideal candidates will have:

•    BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy
•    Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy or Society of Sports Therapists
•    Hold or be working towards IFAS or Lubas pitch side first aid qualification
•    Strong interest in football and working with elite athletes
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including IT literacy
•    Accommodation local to Peterborough or willing to travel
•    Own transport

This position is voluntary; however you will only be expected to work one or two days per week and occasional Sunday mornings. With regular supervision and peer learning, this is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience in a competitive industry.

Sports Science Intern
Peterborough United Football Club Academy requires three motivated, flexible and dedicated graduate sports scientists to join our sports science team and work with our professional players. The primary purpose of the role is to provide a variety of sports science support and strength and conditioning to all academy age groups.

Sports scientists will be mentored and responsible for the Foundation Phase (U9s-U12s) and the Youth Development Phase (U13s-U14s) (U15s-U16s). There will also be opportunities to shadow the Pro Development Phase (U18s) and U21 teams. The role will involve the delivery and assisting with the design of gym and pitch based strength and conditioning sessions, prehab and functional movement sessions, warm ups and speed and agility sessions.

Ideal candidates will have:
•    BSc (Hons) Sports Science or MSc Sports Science or similar
•    Strong interest in football and delivering sports science to elite athletes.
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including IT literacy.
•    Accommodation local to Peterborough or willing to travel.
•    Own transport.

Ideal for those wishing to gain valuable experience in elite sport. The position is voluntary however you will only be expected to work one day and possibly one evening per week, which can be flexible to fit around other work or studies.
