Club hand over cheque to Age UK Peterborough.

City based charity, Age UK Peterborough were delighted to receive a cheque from Peterborough United FC for £1850 - marking the end of the season and their Charity of the Year partnership with Posh, bringing the total raised to just short of £2500.

Michele Matthews of Age UK Peterborough said “This amount of money will go a long way to helping us provide more services in Peterborough - it could sponsor ten befrienders, meaning ten isolated or lonely local older people could see a friendly face, have a chat and maybe cake, every week for a year - we know how much that will mean.”

“We can’t thank the team at Posh enough, they’ve  been a willing and enthusiastic group of people to work with, the money is one thing but the opportunity to raise awareness of the services & support we offer to such a massive audience is of equal importance. We also extend a huge thank you to all the Posh supporters for getting behind the auctions and making us and our collection buckets welcome at matches. Your generosity means we can make a real difference locally, thank you.”

A Posh spokesman said: 'We have been delighted to work closely with the team at Age UK Peterborough during the 2014-2015 campaign. They have been pro-active and a pleasure to work with. We are pleased to hand over this cheque and wish them the very best with their continued fundraising efforts.'
