Posh have signed striker Luke Williams in a loan deal from Championship side Middlesbrough.

Peterborough United have completed the signing of Middlesbrough striker Luke Williams on a loan deal until the end of the campaign with the 21-year-old going straight into the squad for Saturday's clash with Coventry City at the ABAX Stadium.

Williams enjoyed loan spells last year with Scunthorpe United and Hartlepool United, netting four goals in 12 appearances and has also spent time with Coventry City this year.

Williams is an England under 20 international and has scored twice in four games for his country at that level.

Manager Dave Robertson said: 'Luke is an excellent addition to our strikeforce. He offers us something different. We spoke to Lee Tomlin and he gave us a glowing reference about Luke and his potential.

'Luke can play as a number nine or as a number 10 so he gives us some diversity in the way we play. It gives us an extra dimension and we are delighted to have him on board.'
