Peterborough United are pleased to announce the loan signing of Leicester City defender James Pearson.

Pearson (22) arrives on-loan until the 24th May (date of play-off final) and will go straight into the squad for the Sky Bet League One encounter with Coventry City at the ABAX Stadium on Saturday (3pm).

The right-back has enjoyed loan spells with Carlisle United and Wrexham and will provide competition in the full-back areas between now and the end of the campaign.

The defender is the son of Leicester City manager Nigel and made his Foxes debut in the League Cup defeat to Shrewsbury Town.

Manager Dave Robertson said:  'James is another player who can cover us in defensive areas. He has had a good run of form in the Leicester City under 21 side and comes highly recommended so we are looking forward to working with him.'
