Posh host Show Racism the Red Card workshop at the ABAX Stadium.

Peterborough United pair Gabriel Zakuani and Ricardo Santos attended the latest Show Racism the Red Card workshop at the ABAX Stadium as youngsters from Longthorpe Primary School were provided with two hours of learning followed by a ground tour of the stadium.

The Posh central defensive pairing answered questions on a whole host of aspects of racism including their own personal experiences before signing autographs and posing for pictures with the children.

Ged Grebby, Chief Executive of SRtRC said ‘The educational events with football clubs are one of the highlights of the campaign’s work. It’s brilliant to be able to continue this season’s programme of events with Peterborough United FC.

‘The club and Posh in the Community are long-standing supporters of SRtRC. I am delighted that they are working with us again to send a clear and positive message to young people that racism should not be tolerated in sport or society.’

The educational events at football clubs allow young people to experience a firsthand interaction with anti-racism role models in the form of professional footballers and spend time thinking critically about this important issue.

During the 2013-14 season the campaign held 38 events in England, attended by 79 professional footballers and managers and educating 3,230 young people.

The primary school pupils from the local area took part in a range of anti-racism activities, see a screening of the SRtRC film and then they have the chance to pose questions to a panel, including Zakuani and Santos.
