Dave Robertson's men made it four wins from four after another excellent display at play-off chasing Doncaster Rovers.

Peterborough United made it four straight Sky Bet League One wins in a row as goals from Luke James, his first league goal for the club, and Conor Washington earned a 2-0 win over Doncaster Rovers but goalkeeper Ben Alnwick can take a lot of the glory with a host of stunning saves including one late on at 1-0.

After a delayed start, for no real obvious reason, it was Posh who started quickly with an excellent run from Joe Newell down the left hand side saw him burst past two defenders, but his right-foot shot was straight at Bywater.

The deadlock was broken on 14 minutes and it was a great moment for all connected with the football club as Luke JAMES stooped to head home his first league goal for the club as he stooped to convert a superb Taylor cross.

Forrester curled a free-kick over the bar moments later as referee Mr Miller spotted a foul against Santos when he clearly won the ball.

Goalkeeper Ben Alnwick made a superb stop dashing from his line to deny Nathan Tyson on 23 minutes before the hosts had a decent appeal for a spot-kick turned down as Zakuani appeared to shove Clarke-Harris in the box.

Taylor toe-poked just wide after excellent approach play from James on 39 minutes. Bywater made a superb stop in injury time to claw a Newell effort from 25-yards around the post and from the resulting corner, James headed Newell's inswinging set-piece over the bar.
Alnwick beat away a fierce drive from Forrester on 27 minutes and then denied Main at full stretch as the hosts responded well to falling behind.

At the other end, Bywater had to be at full stretch to push a fierce 25-yard shot from Bostwick around the post.

Payne was booked for a foul on Clarke-Harris on 31 minutes, his ninth caution of the campaign. Alnwick was called upon again on 39 minutes as he stood tall to tip a deflected Tyson shot around the post.

James was denied at the near post by Bywater moments after the break before a flurry of Posh bookings with Ntlhe cautioned for diving and Washington booked for kicking the ball away (he finished into the back of the net, but the offside flag was long raised).

The home side made a change on 64 minutes with Kyle Bennett introduced from the bench. Bostwick was booked for a foul before Doncaster made a second change with Tyson replaced by Theo Robinson.

Youngster Harry Anderson replaced the tiring Newell on 75 minutes. Substitute Bennett fired over after finding some space down the right.

On 88 minutes, Alnwick made another stupendous stop, this time with his legs to deny Wellens and Posh countered at pace, the ball was fed to Vassell, he skipped past two challenges, fed the ball to WASHINGTON and he calmly sidefooted past Bywater to make it 2-0.

Posh made a late change as Shaun Brisley replaced Ntlhe who was struggling with cramp.
