Peterborough United drew 0-0 with Championship side Ipswich Town at the ABAX Stadium.

Peterborough United and Ipswich Town played out a goalless draw at the ABAX Stadium in a game of few clear-cut opportunities, but boss Dave Robertson will be pleased his side continued their unbeaten run during pre-season following another stern test.

After a quiet opening to the game, it was Joe Gormley who had the first effort at goal, his sharp turn and strike from 25-yards clearing the crossbar.

David McGoldrick showed a good piece of skill to nutmeg Jon Taylor on 17 minutes, but he dragged his shot wide of the far post.

Taylor was not far away at the other end from breaking the deadlock after a forceful run, but his effort went wide of the near post.

Michael Bostwick fired wide from distance on 24 minutes after a patient build-up from Dave Robertson's men.

Conor Washington showed good pressing to close down goalkeeper Gerken on the half hour mark, the keeper's clearance striking the front man and rebounding over the bar.

Jack Collison then tested Gerken with a fierce drive from fully 40-yards, the keeper tipping the ball onto the top of the crossbar and behind for a corner kick.

Zakuani produced a fine last ditch tackle to deny Parr as the half-time interval approached before Santos was given treatment for what appeared to be a toe injury.

Berra hooked a volley from a corner kick wide of the target on 48 minutes before Posh were forced into a change with Shaun Brisley replacing Santos who took a knock at the end of the first half.

Jermaine Anderson replaced Collison just before the hour mark as the former West Ham man continued his recovery from injury.

Ipswich made 10 changes just after the hour mark with only goalkeeper Gerken remaining on the pitch. Maddison sent a fierce free-kick just past the upright before the visitors struck the woodwork, substitute McDonnell's left-footed effort hitting the inside of the post.

Posh made a double switch on 72 minutes with Joe Newell and Harry Anderson introduced for Taylor and Maddison.

Darren Ambrose saw a late free-kick gathered by Alnwick after Brisley was penalised for a trip on Connolly.
