Oztumer To Skipper Posh At Dulwich Hamlet

7 July 2015

Dave Robertson confirms that Erhun Oztumer will skipper Posh in their first pre-season friendly.

Peterborough United travel to Dulwich Hamlet on Wednesday night (7.45pm) in their first pre-season friendly and manager Dave Robertson has confirmed that Erhun Oztumer will skipper the side against his former club.

Oztumer joined Posh from the non-league side in June 2014 and is sure to receive a friendly welcome from the supporters at the Champion Hill Stadium.

Robertson has also confirmed that several of his squad will get an hour under their belts while the majority of others will get 30 minutes as Posh prepare for the first home pre-season fixture of the campaign against West Ham United at the ABAX Stadium (click here for tickets for the game with the Hammers).

'I am really excited. The players have come back in fine shape and everybody cannot wait to get onto the pitch and showing everyone what we can do. We will be splitting the game into two groups. One group will play an hour and one group will play 30 minutes.

'As a manager, I will be looking at the conditioning of the players, we will be introducing our patterns of play game by game. I want to see the characters in the group, some games will be low pressure, some will be high pressure and it is how they respond to those conditions so we get what we need to out of the games.

'We always want to win games, whether it be pre-season or league fixtures, but in this case, it is not the be all and end all, however, the players know there is competition for places and it is down to the squad to show what they are all about.

'I spoke to Erhun on Monday morning, he will be captaining the side on his return to his former club. It will be fantastic for him to lead our team out, but also for him to show his progression as a player in front of the Dulwich fans. I am sure he will get a great reception,' Robertson said.

Admission to the game costs £10 for adults, £4 for seniors over 60 and under 18s with under 3s admitted FREE of charge.
